Signed on verso
A classically trained artist, Nicolas Party is best-known for engaging with traditional painting genres such as portraiture, landscape, and still life. Often re-interpreting them through a neo-Surrealist eye, Party uses vibrant colors and distorted shapes to create his fantastical images. In this work, three pots repose on a pastel background — tall and almost monumental in form, Party's depiction of such everyday objects seem to take on a life of their own.
