    Helwaser Gallery reflects the vision of Antoine and Anne-Marie Helwaser, whose four decades of experience have established them as respected specialists in postwar and contemporary art. Antoine founded the gallery in Paris in 1986 before relocating to New York in 2008, where the couple expanded their program to foster meaningful dialogue between modern masters and established and mid-career contemporary artists. Their approach is rooted in connoisseurship, scholarship, and long-standing relationships with artists, collectors, and institutions.

     

    Throughout their careers, Antoine and Anne-Marie have organized significant historical exhibitions, including a major retrospective of Jean Dubuffet and presentations devoted to French Cubist masters such as Georges Braque, Jean Metzinger, and Pablo Picasso. Their New York program further expanded this dialogue through thoughtfully curated exhibitions that brought together historically important works with contemporary practice, creating new perspectives across generations while maintaining a commitment to exceptional quality and rigorous scholarship.
